Al-Zahraa University (peace be upon her) for Girls, College of Education, English Language Department, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Department, held a scientific workshop on the importance of mental health, in the hall of Al-Kawthar Center for Continuing Education . The workshop lecturer, Dr. Ali Latif, a specialist in psychiatry, stated: “On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, which falls on October 10, a lecture was given on the importance of mental health, and the target group was female students at Al-Zahraa University (peace be upon her) for girls.”. He added: “The concept of mental health, the developmental, preventive and therapeutic approach, the theory of psychoanalysis and psychological pressures resulting from political, economic, social and environmental conditions, and what are the reactions and how to deal with them were discussed, and an explanation of social stigma, psychological disorders and the difference between nervous disorders and mental disorders were presented.” The doctor explained: “The aim of the lecture was to spread public awareness of mental health issues that an individual may suffer from and that affect the quality of his life and enjoyment of his life, and the importance of mental health in enabling the individual to face the pressures of life, achieve his goals and serve the community in the best possible way.” Read more
